ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — UPDATE: Charges have been filed against Charles Morancey as of Wednesday. In Warwick, RI, he is charged with four counts of third-degree sexual assault. He is also a fugitive wanted in Michigan for charges relating to accosting children and using a computer to commit a crime.
Police in Allegan County previously responded to a call about 15-year-old Gracie Hewartson running away from home last Friday.
It was later discovered that Hewartson had left with 43-year-old Charles Morancey, who she had been communicating with online. Morancey came to pick her up from Rhode Island where she was later discovered.
Police say Hewartson is safe, and are actively getting her back home.
Morancey is also scheduled to have an extradition hearing on September 30th.
