KENT COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Sometimes no news is good news.
On Tuesday the 100th Street Overpass posted on its Facebook page saying it has been exactly 1 year since it was last hit.
MDOT lowered the road on US-131 underneath the bridge to prevent over-sized vehicles from hitting the overpass, and they hope to completely replace the bridge by next year.
The bridge was hit almost a dozen times last year, prompting the creation of a viral Facebook page for the bridge, which now proudly says it has been 365 days accident free.
The bridge posted on Facebook saying, “I’d like to thank, MDOT for lowering the road under me, the Taxpayers for funding MDOT which allowed them to lower the road under me, and 14′ Semi for not hitting me. I am thank for all of you, but the people I want to thank the most are all of YOU! Without you, my page wouldn’t be possible! It has been a lot of fun interacting with you as you interact with me by driving over and under me every day!”
