BUCHANAN TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Berrien County Sheriff deputies are identifying the 4-killed when a car blew through a stop sign in Buchanan Township.
It happened just after noon on Friday at the intersection of North Main Street and Miller Road, north of the Michigan/Indiana stateline.
Authorities say 53-year-old Dub Collins was traveling with 39-year-old Heather Collins when he ran the stop sign and slammed into another vehicle, killing all 4-people in that vehicle.
The victims are driver 66-year-old Robert Klint of Sawyer, and passengers 60-year-old Melissa Klint, 22-year-old Landyn Klint, and 52-year-old Kent Williamson from Virginia.
Investigators believe alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
The at-fault driver, a recent parolee, is being held on a Michigan Department of Corrections Parole Detainer while officers determine what criminal charges will be filed.
