PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Officials in Portage report that no fatalities occurred in a traffic collision involving a semi truck on I-94 Wednesday evening.
Police say that a minivan carrying a mother and her two children was merging onto I-94 off of Oakland drive when control was lost and spun into the westbound lanes, which led to the van getting hit by a semi truck.
At the scene, a 14-year-old passenger was reported to unconscious and not breathing. Medical officials were able to revive him at the scene.
The three occupants were transferred to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Witnesses say that the crash may have been caused by an unidentified vehicle that struck the minivan from behind.
