KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A former White House aide is running for State Representative in Kalamazoo County.
Bronwyn Haltom is campaigning for the Republican nomination for the 61st District seat, currently held by State Representative Brandt Iden who is term-limited.
According to Haltom’s campaign website, she grew up in a middle-class family in Oshtemo, was homeschooled until she attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College and then transferred to the University of Michigan where she received her degree.
She worked as the western regional political director for President Trump’s White House transitional team where she traveled to different states to help elect politicians to office.
Haltom now lives in Texas Corners, started a small business in Kalamazoo, sits on the Kalamazoo Republican Party Executive Committee, and serves as the Vice President for the Kalamazoo Republican Women’s Association.
Democrat and Kalamazoo County Commissioner Christine Morse has also announced her run for this seat.
