GENEVA TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Bangor man is in critical condition after he struck a tree in Van Buren County.
Deputies say 62-year-old Rodney Abbott was traveling eastbound on 16th Avenue near 62nd Street in Geneva Township around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday when he attempted to pass another vehicle. That’s when his truck left the roadway, struck a tree, and rolled over.
Abbott, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and airlifted to Bronson hospital in Kalamazoo where he was last listed in critical condition.
Authorities are still investigating the crash.
