KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is asking Northside neighborhood residents for help in stopping the notorious X-Train parties before they begin.
The X-Train is a periodic mobile party in Kalamazoo, during which hundreds of people gather in one area before moving on to the next.
Complaints include drug use, disorderly conduct, drunk driving, shootings, and blocking streets and driveways at the inconvenience of other residents.
The City of Kalamazoo recently passed two new ordinances that prohibit X-train parties, or “mobile nuisance parties,” as well as attending one.
KDPS officers spent Wednesday handing out flyers to the residents of the area that explain the new ordinances, and asked for help in being called if they suspect a party is gathering.
