STURGIS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A man from Indiana is now in the St. Joseph County jail after he led officers on a high speed chase, going around 100mph.
Dispatchers received calls about a black SUV driving recklessly and almost hitting two motorcyclists on US-12 near Balk Round just before 3 p.m. Saturday and located the vehicle in Sturgis Township.
When officers attempted to pull the driver over he took off speeding out of the city before he lost control and crashed in the 31000 block of Witt Lake Road in Burr Oak Township.
The 21-year-old man from Elkhart was arrested on several felony charges and his 33-year-old passenger was released from the scene.
