MONTEREY TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) –Dumont Lake will be investigated for possible chemical mistreatment following several animal deaths.
One dog has died, and many say their dogs have been getting sick in area, following reports of two dead turtles, a dead raccoon and approximately 20 dead birds as well.
The lake’s contractor is allowed to use several chemicals to combat aquatic plants and algae, but may have failed to properly notify residents of the treated areas.
