KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A man is dead after a shooting in Kalamazoo Township.
It occurred around 6:00 p.m. Friday in the 2100 block of North Burdick Street near East Dunkley Street.
Kalamazoo Township Police found the 21-year-old victim laying in the road with a gunshot wound.
He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as Dontae Lawrence from Kalamazoo.
Another shooting also occurred Friday afternoon at Cadillac Street and Hawley Street in the Northside Neighborhood.
Officers say a 17-year-old was shot and taken to the hospital, but their current condition has not been released.
It’s unclear if the two incidents are connected.
