HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The Grand Rapids’ National Weather Service has issued a beach-hazards statement for Allegan, Ottawa, Muskegon and Van Buren counties, starting at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 11, 2019, through late evening.
Beach visitors can expect to see red flags flying — meaning no swimming — and high-wave action.
Dangerous swimming conditions will include rip currents and strong structural currents, with waves reaching 4 to 6 feet.
Beaches with particularly dangerous conditions include South Haven’s north beach, Holland State Park and Muskegon State Park. North winds could gust to 30 mph.
