SAN JUAN, PR (WKZO AM/FM) — The one-year-old daughter of a South Bend police officer died Sunday afternoon after she fell down 11 stories on the Freedom of the Seas cruise ship.
Officer Alan Wiegand’s daughter was being held by her grandfather when his grip slipped, dropping her.
The ship was docked in San Juan at the time of the incident.
Royal Caribbean Cruises said the incident was tragic and is reportedly helping the family.
