HOLLAND (WTHC-AM/FM) — Severe thunderstorms that swept across West Michigan Tuesday evening caused a swatch of power outages, mostly east of Ottawa County.
Statewide, Consumers Energy reported 298 outages just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019, affecting 15,279 customers.
Allegan County had a smattering of small outages; Ottawa County’s 300-plus outages were mostly in the greater Grand Haven area, southeast of the city, where about 300 customers lost power.
Kalamazoo had about 5,000 customers without power; Battle Creek has scattered outages totaling close to 400; and 27 outages were reported just southeast of Coldwater
Lansing’s Board of Water and Ligher outage map showed four outages north of West St. Joseph on Kenway Drive.
