KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A former American Idol contestant and Western Michigan University grad is hosting a free community dinner in Kalamazoo.
Matt Giraud will be serving meals, taking selfies, and signing autographs at the Douglass Community Association meal site from 4:30 until 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The event is free and open to the public and any donations given will go to Matt Giraud Fights Hunger fund with his goal of raising 3-million dollars to build a commissary and dining room in Kalamazoo to feed the homeless and achieve his goal of serving 1-million free meals within the next decade.
The meal will consist of BBQ ribs, fried chicken, beans, coleslaw, and fruit.
