GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Grand Rapids Police are still investigating after a spike in violence with 9 shootings since Saturday and now 6 injured.
The latest occurred when a man was shot and injured at Joe Taylor Memorial Park on the city’s southwest side Wednesday afternoon.
The suspect is still at large and Grand Rapids Police Department Interim Chief David Kiddle says they’re still trying to figure out what was the shooter’s motive.
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
This incident comes just a day after a Grand Rapids community meeting was held to discuss the recent uptick in violent crime and to look into ideas on how to stop it.
