LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Democrats in the Michigan House are touting their road funding plan and are asking for feedback from residents statewide.
They are calling for an increase in the states’ corporate income tax and new taxes and tolls on semis, with a trucks-only toll on bridges similar to what’s in place in Rhode Island.
Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer has proposed a 45-cent per gallon increase in fuel taxes, but that’s not included in the plan from House Democrats, and no lawmaker has put forth a bill supporting the governor’s plan.
