KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The recent heavy rains in Kalamazoo County have prompted disaster preparedness authorities to encourage property owners to have a flood plan.
They stress the number one priority is knowing where you and your family will go should water spill into the house.
Guidelines also advise homeowners to make a complete list of all personal property complete with pictures along with a plan to move appliances and furniture to upper floors or at least raised off the ground.
