UNDATED (WKZO AM/FM) — Forecasters are calling it Michigan’s 3rd wettest year in history as the rain continues to fall, causing more problems throughout the area.
The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids is issuing a moderate flood advisory for Barry, Calhoun, Eaton, Ingham, Jackson and Kalamazoo counties until around 11:15 a.m. Thursday and a flash flood watch for Cass, Hillsdale, Branch, and St. Joseph counties.
Forecasters say some areas may receive as much as 3-inches of rain through the mid-morning hours with heavy downpours at times.
No major thunderstorms are predicted, but drivers should be cautious of flooded streets as the rain continues.
In fact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says drivers should avoid the following roads in Kalamazoo due to flooding:

The RCKC is stressing to the public that it is not safe to move, remove barricades or drive around them. There’s a reason the barricades and signs are in place and that reason is to protect the safety of the motoring public and our road maintenance operators. Even when you don’t immediately see water, equipment or road maintenance operators, it is not safe to disregard the traffic signs and barricades.
