KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety officers have recovered all three bodies after a mother intentionally drove her vehicle into the Kalamazoo River, according to their press release.
Public Safety officers were called to the Walgreens at Riverview and Gull Road around 10:40 p.m. Monday where they found two upset girls who were trying to find their uncle.
After he was located and reunited the girls told officers that a family member had driven her vehicle into the Kalamazoo River with her two children still inside.
Dive teams searched the water near Verburg Park where they first located the submerged black Chevrolet Impala and the bodies of 44-year-old mother and one 9-year-old child overnight. The second 9-year-old daughter’s body was recovered later Tuesday morning.
Family members have now identified the victims as mother Ineza McClinton and her two twin daughter Faith and Angel.
In a statement, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said they offer their “condolences to all family and friends who have been impacted by this tragic loss.”
