KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Valley Museum will be holding an educational event to celebrate the ending of slavery this week.
The “Juneteenth” celebration commemorates the date June 19th, 1865, when Union soldiers came to Galveston, TX, with the news that slaves were free and the war was over.
The event will take place from 1 to 4 PM this Saturday and will feature educational seminars. The event is free and open to the public.
