NEWBERG TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Three Rivers woman is in the hospital after crashing trying to avoid a deer.
Cass County Sheriff deputies say it occurred just before 5 a.m. Sunday on Savage Road near Born Street in Newberg Township.
51-year-old Misty Barnes was traveling northbound when she swerved to avoid a deer that ran out in front of her, but instead went off the roadway and struck a tree.
She was rushed to Bronson Methodist in Kalamazoo where her current condition has not been released.
