KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A water main repair is prompting a precautionary boil water advisory near Kalamazoo’s Southside.
Affected areas include:
- South Burdick Street – From Lake Street (northern boundary) to West Emerson Street (southern boundary), west side of the street. Does NOT include the southwest corner of South Burdick Street and Lake Street.
- West Stockbridge Avenue – Only the northwest corner of West Stockbridge Avenue and South Burdick Street.
- Balch Street – From South Burdick Street (eastern boundary) to South Park Street (western boundary), north side of the street. It does include the northwest corner of Balch Street and South Park Street.
The advisory is in place as a precaution because the water main repair on South Burdick will result in a temporary loss of pressure.
Crews will begin work Friday morning and the advisory is expected to be lifted by Monday, or when safe tests results come back.
