KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A teen home invader is now at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home thanks to the hard work of a Public Safety K-9.
Officers were dispatched to a home in the 900 block of Southworth Terrace in the Eastside Neighborhood just before 8:30 a.m. Tuesday after a report of a breaking and entering in progress.
Witnesses say the young suspect was checking locked doors and windows all around the house before they eventually entered through a window.
When officers arrived the suspect slipped out of an unknown exit and fled the scene.
K-9 handler Jeff Deblecourt launched K-9 Jax who tracked the suspect more than 7 blocks away in the 200 block of Phelps Avenue.
The 14-year-old Kalamazoo resident was arrested and charged for breaking and entering.
