LEROY TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A Calhoun County woman who said in an angry social media post that she had nothing to do with her mother’s death is now facing charges.
46-year-old Marcia Lutz has been charged with concealing a death and failing to report the discovery of a dead body. Warrants have been issued for her arrest.
The body of 74-year-old Phyllis Lutz was found buried outside her home on Four Mile Road in Leroy Township south of Battle Creek in January.
After authorities said Marcia Lutz was a person of interest last January, she fired back on her Facebook page by saying, “what the HELL kind of monster do you think I am? DO YOU REALLY THINK I WOULD HURT HER? I may be a lot of things but I WOULD NEVER IN A MILLIONS YEARS HURT HER. I am so angry and upset that I am shaking.”
Michigan State Police were sent to the home after Phyllis Lutz’s friends reported that they hadn’t heard from her since September 2018, which is when investigators believe she died.
