ALLEGAN COUNTY (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 25-year-old man died in Allegan County, just after midnight Sunday, May 26, 2019. He’d been fleeing an attempted traffic stop on 102nd Avenue near 16th Street in Otsego Township, according to police.
As the driver sped away, the deputy pursuing, the vehicle crashed in to an unoccupied vehicle, parked on 102nd Avenue just east of 12th Street.
The driver died while enroute by ambulance to the hospital..
The crash remains under investigation however drugs are believed to be a factor. The driver’s identity is being withheld, pending notification of his family.
Michigan State Police crash investigators, Plainwell Department of Public Safety officers, Plainwell EMS, and Otsego police officers assisted during this incident.
