PENN TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Marcellus teen is dead after he was electrocuted while working on a farm in Cass County.
The incident occurred just after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Sparks Cedarlee Farms in the 59,000 block of Gards Prairie Road in Penn Township.
First responders say that 19-year-old Rocky Stoner was holding a metal roof truss while the other employee was working a fork lift to move it into position.
That’s when the truss touched a nearby powerline and electrocuted Stoner.
He was rushed to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac where he was later pronounced dead.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
