SOUTH HAVEN (WHTC-AM/FM) — Fire destroyed a home in the 600 block of St. Joseph Street in South Haven on Friday, May 25, 2019.
The home was fully involved in flames when firefighters arrived, shortly after 3 p.m.
The home is owned by an Illinois family who’s just arrived to spend the holiday weekend, according to South Haven Fire Chief Ron Wise. The family, at home when the fire was discovered, were able to safely escape.
The heat of the fire damaged exterior siding on the home next door.
No one was hurt. The fire remains under investigation, but appears to have been accidental, according to Wise.
