STURGIS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Sturgis man is facing open murder and dismemberment charges after police discovered he was storing a woman’s body in his apartment for weeks.
Officers were dispatched to the home in the 200 block of North Maple Street late Wednesday night after they received an anonymous tip.
They conducted interviews and later searched the apartment where they discovered the dismembered body.
Published reports identify the suspect as 35-year-old Wade Allen who was taken into custody and arraigned in the St. Joseph County Court on Thursday.
He is due back in court June 4, 2019 for a preliminary exam.
