KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Score another success for a Kalamazoo K-9.
Public Safety officers spotted a felon sitting in a vehicle in the 3600 block of Kenbrooke Court Friday. When they tried to contact the suspect, Kevin Davis Jr., he hit the gas and sped away.
After a mid-morning chase through the city, he crashed his Chrysler 200 near Stewart on West North Street, near Woodward Elementary.
The 19-year-old fled on foot, and soon after the K-9 was deployed, the dog sniffed out the teen hiding in the back seat of a vehicle nearby.
Davis is being held on fleeing and eluding, drug and gun charges. His bond was set at $50,000.
