CASS COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A suspect who evaded capture for seven hours could be formally charged with a variety of counts in two separate counties in the coming week.
The chase began in Van Buren County late Thursday night when the man refused to stop the vehicle he had stolen, and outran State Troopers. He headed into Cass County.
Cass County Deputies say he crashed the vehicle in Marcellus and fled the wrecked vehicle on foot.
A K-9 was deployed lost the scent.
Six hours later, a resident called police that there was a stranger hiding in an outbuilding on their property.
Once again the suspect fled, but this time a K-9 was able to track him to a vehicle in the area, where he was hiding.
He faces charges for vehicle theft, breaking and entering, eluding police and obstruction.
