ALBION (WKZO AM/FM) — A rally will be held in Albion this evening following the release of police video showing an Albion Police Officer punching a 13-year-old who had his hands cuffed behind his back and who suffers from mental health issues.
Da’veo Cieslack was then pepper-sprayed as he cried for help.
Officer Tyler Collins was fired for the incident, but he was not charged or prosecuted.
Community members are calling for a reexamination of that decision and an independent investigation of the way it was handled by the Albion Department of Public Safety and the Calhoun County Prosecutor’s office.
The rally will be held this evening at Albion City Hall at 7:00.
