UNDATED (WKZO AM/FM) — Today is an election day, but only in jurisdictions that actually have something on the ballot, only about 62 of the state’s 83 counties have issues on local ballots.
In Kalamazoo County two rural school districts are asking residents to decide financial issues.
Comstock Schools will be looking for extra millage to upgrade and repair infrastructure and facilities in the district.
This includes the upkeep of things like doors and windows, flooring, roofing, paving and the like.
Voters in the Climax School District will be asked to renew a routine millage question.
In Calhoun County: there are road funding proposals on the ballot in Emmett and Leroy Townships and Burlington Village voters will decide a local funding issue.
This is the first election that some of the new voter rights approved by the state’s voters last fall will be in effect, but a few of those new rights won’t apply to today’s balloting.
