KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo man is being held in the County Jail after they claim he pistol whipped and then shot a man in the head early Saturday morning.
Public Safety was dispatched to a report of a fight in the 600 block of Mable Street, on the city’s north side at about 4am. They found the victim but the suspect had fled.
Investigators quickly learned that their suspect was a 29-year-old they were familiar with and they began to patrol his usual hangouts.
They spotted him and took him into custody at 8:00 pm Saturday, 16-hours after the shooting. He is being held for felonious assault and a list of serious gun counts.
The 26-year-old victim is reported in stable condition.
