LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — The State Legislature has finally settled on a plan to forgive 4 more snowdays following this nastier than usual winter season.
It won’t fix the problem in every district, but for most of the large districts in Southwest Michigan, it eliminates the need to tack additional days onto the end of the school year.
Senate Democratic Leader Jim Ananich says they are disappointed it won’t help hourly workers who are losing income because of the compromise.
It brings the total number of school days that will not have to be replaced to 13.
The legislation now heads to the Governor for her expected signature.
