HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — U.S. News & World Report has ranked Black River Public School sixth within Michigan in the magazine’s annual survey of high schools.
The magazine staff worked with North Carolina-based RTI International, a global nonprofit social science research firm, on this project, helping rate 17,245 public high schools out of more than 23,000 reviewed.
Black River students participated in advanced-placement classes at a rate of 79 percent of the student body. The school’s overall enrollment includes 24 percent minority students and 21 percent who are economincally disadvantaged.
Black River Public School is ranked #292 nationally, according the the magazine, which ranked schools on performance on state-required tests, graduation rates, and how well they prepared students for college.
