KALAMAZOO, MI (WTVB) – The mother of Calista Kay Rose says her daughter is back home and is safe. An AMBER Alert was issued for the 13-year-old Galesburg girl during the overnight hours after she didn’t come home Tuesday.
It was stated in the AMBER Alert that it was believed she was with a 45-year-old man.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller said during a news conference Wednesday afternoon that the teen ran away and that she was not kidnapped.
He added the man whose name was put out with the AMBER Alert had no involvement.
The AMBER Alert was cancelled after the youngster was reportedly found in a pole barn in Augusta not far from her home late Wednesday morning.
