BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Calhoun County woman who admitted she was a member of a regional child pornography ring was sentenced to 25 to 70-years for participating in the sexual abuse of a three month old baby.
Talia Furman of Springfield was ordered to serve exactly half the sentence given to her boyfriend, Matthew Toole, who was sentenced to 50 to 140 years earlier this year.
Both entered no-contest pleas.
Furman, Toole along with David Lee Bailey of Coldwater and Jayme LaPoint of Athens still face charges in Branch County for allegedly conspiring to kidnap, sexually abuse, torture and kill a child.
The Branch County case is being handled by the Michigan Attorney General’s office.
Bond for all four suspects in the Branch County cases is $5 million for each suspect.
