COLDWATER (WKZO AM/FM) — The death of a baby is now being investigated as a case of extreme child abuse in Coldwater after pathologist reports that it was no accident.
5-month-old Luna Royer-King was taken to the hospital in February after allegedly falling out of a child swing.
The baby died later at Motts Children Hospital after it was diagnosed with irreversible head injuries.
The child’s grandmother Ginny King says that the baby was with her father, Coleman Royer, when she fell out of the swing on Valentines Day.
Pathologists found the child had a broken elbow and 9 broken ribs that were in different states of healing, suggesting the abuse had taken place over a period of time.
Royer says he has no idea how the injuries occurred.
Right now no one has been charged as the investigation continues.
