LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — Family Fitness Centers in West Michigan have been ordered to pay a $220,000 fine by Michigan’s Attorney General following a consent judgement after the firm was sued for violating the state’s consumer protection act.
The A.G.’s office received hundreds of complaints about its business practices, membership fees and cancellation charges.
$190,000 will be returned to customers who filed complaints. You can find out how to make a claim or file a complaint at their website.
The firm operates a dozen gyms in west Michigan including locations in Holland, Plainwell and Portage. The rest are all in Kent and Muskegon Counties.
