LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — The State of Michigan is warning businesses of scammers who are posing as a state agency asking them to fill out a fake form that might reveal credit card numbers and other information that could compromise the firm, and also assessing them a $150 fee to submit the form.
State Licensing and Regulatory Affairs director Orlene Hawks says it asks for a list of board members and other information.
The fake form lists an address on Saginaw Highway in Lansing at a site where there are no governmental offices.
Officials say anyone receiving such a letter should save it and call the Post Office to file a mail fraud complaint, and notify the Attorney General’s office too.
