DOWAGIAC, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A missing Dowagiac man has been found, but it’s not a happy ending. 78-year-old Larry Waldschmidt suffered from altzheimers and diabetes and was insulin dependent.
He disappeared along with his white Ford Escape March 27. For reasons that are not clear, he pulled into the driveway of a home on Kelsey Lake Street and parked, and then died.
The owners were not staying at the residence.
That’s where the vehicle and his body were found this week. An autopsy is planned.
Dozens of sightings from around the state came in while he was missing, but it appears he never left the area.
