BOSTON (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo long distance runner Julian Borst became the first Special Olympian to ever qualify for the Boston Marathon, running it for the first time Monday in 3:05:08.
The 22-year-old credits his mother for getting him involved in running. Saying he used to ride the bike but pedaled too fast for her to keep up.

36-year-old Dathan Ritzenheim of West Michigan, a former Olympian, finished 19th overall. Over 30-thousand participated in the race yesterday.
