LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — Dr. Matt Longjohn apparently did not step over the line when he claimed to be an M.D. on the campaign materials he used in his congressional campaign against Fred Upton.
The State Licensing and Regulatory Affairs declined to take action on complaints that Longjohn misrepresented himself.
LARA received three complaints but board members say there was not enough information to substantiate the allegations.
At one point the complaint was kicked over to the Attorney General’s office, but they also took no action.
A spokesman for the State Republican Party says they still feel he misrepresented himself.
Longjohn came within 5% of defeating the incumbent Republican, and we may never know just how big a role the kerfuffle over the issue played in the outcome.
