THREE RIVERS, MI (WTVB) – Three Rivers police arrested two persons Wednesday night when a traffic stop in that St. Joseph County community for a minor violation turned into a drugs and weapons bust.
Police believed there was a 28-year-old woman in the vehicle that was wanted on a valid felony warrant.
A 30-year-old man from Three Rivers was also in the vehicle. During the interaction, police became suspicious there was contraband inside the car.
A K-9 was brought in after the driver refused to allow officers to search the vehicle. After the K-9 alerted for drug odor, police searched the car and found two loaded hand guns, illegal prescription pills, needles and over an ounce of crystal methamphetamine.
The two suspects were taken to the St. Joseph County Jail where they were booked on multiple felony charges involving narcotics and weapons.
