ALLEGAN COUNTY (WHTC-AM/FM) — Allegan County Sheriff’s officials are mourning the death of one of their K-9 officers. Medo worked with deputies for eight years, helping find missing children, tracking down bad guys and sniffing out drugs.
“Medo was very loved by everyone that met him especially children and was a valued member of our Office, who served us well,” said Sheriff Frank Baker. “A few years ago, he was responsible for saving the life of a small child who had wandered off from home during inclement weather. He will be missed.”
A six-hour search by the K-9 led to the recovery of the two year old.
Medo was a gift to the department from the Gun Lake Casino, and less than a year old when he joined Allegan County Sheriff”s Office.
