KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A man is being cited for reckless driving after he smashed into a light pole near Kalamazoo’s Milwood Neighborhood.
Public Safety officers were called to the 2100 block of Miller Road around noon Thursday and found a single vehicle with substantial damage and the light pole broken in half.
Witnesses say the driver was going 70 to 80 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone and almost hit a pedestrian and another driver before losing control and crashing.
The driver was treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries, and the pole was repaired by Consumers Energy.
