KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Two teens are in custody and another suspect is still at large after a shooting near Kalamazoo’s Edison Neighborhood.
Public Safety officers were called to a fight complaint with gunshots in the 1900 block of Portage Street around 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and discovered a large group of people and several spent bullet casings.
Nobody was reported injured and 3 suspects were identified as the shooters, but they were not located at the scene.
Then around 10:30 p.m. the investigation led officers to a home in the 600 block of Fairbanks Avenue where they detained several suspects and located several firearms with the help of the Kalamazoo Metro SWAT team.
A 17-year-old and a 19-year-old were arrested and booked into the Kalamazoo County Jail on weapon related charges, but the third suspect was not located.
