KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — As Kalamazoo County’s photo I.D. Program nears its one-year anniversary, organizers are delighted with the number of cards that have been issued, and have plans to encourage more to sign up.
Advisory Board Chair Francisco Vellegas says their goal was to issue 1,000 cards by their first anniversary. Right now they expect to double that number.
He says they want to improve the program by setting up a mobile facility to distribute the cards, alter the eligibility standards to make the card easier to obtain, and do more promotion.
They plan a celebration in May to mark their first year of operation.
