KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — There were no injuries reported following a fire Sunday afternoon in an apartment block in an off-campus student housing complex in the 1500 block of Lafayette Street Sunday afternoon.
Public Safety were dispatched to a fire call just before 1 pm and found smoke coming from the apartment building.
They immediately began to hook up hoses and to evacuate the other apartments.
They also quickly discovered that the flames had gotten into the attic.
No word on how many apartments were damaged. The cause remains under investigation.
