BANGOR TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — Van Buren County Deputies think they have found the driver who struck and killed a man Wednesday evening near Bangor.
55-year-old Brian Perry was walking along rural County Road 378 when he was struck by what appeared to be a Dodge SUV. The vehicle then fled the scene.
Perry did not survive his injuries.
They say one of their sergeants on routine patrol spotted the Dodge Journey, which had suffered front end damage, and the 21-year-old driver confessed he was driving the night of the hit and run.
The vehicle has been impounded.
Tests are being conducted and the results will be sent to the Prosecutor to determine the charges.
